TRICONEX 4200 Remote Expansion Module

TRICONEX 4200 is a dedicated RMX Fibre Optic Primary Remote Extender Module for Triconex Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). Its core function is to realize high-speed data interaction between controllers and remote I/O modules via single-mode fibre optic links, extending the deployment range of I/O devices to 12 kilometers away, adapting to signal acquisition and control needs in distributed industrial scenarios. The module adopts a Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) architecture, integrates a 32-bit RISC processor and multi-protocol communication interfaces, supports protocols such as Modbus RTU and PROFINET, and is compatible with all series of Triconex controllers and I/O modules (universal for digital and analog). It features hot-swappable functionality and an online diagnostic module, certified by IEC 61508 and reaching SIL 3 safety level, enabling maintenance without shutdown. It serves as a key component for "remote interconnection-safety redundancy-fault tolerance" in high-risk industries such as petrochemicals and nuclear power.​

Product Performance​

The data transmission delay of the fibre optic link is ≤50ms, and the communication delay of the Ethernet port is ≤10ms, meeting the real-time requirements of remote control; the TMR architecture achieves single-point fault tolerance, with a fault switching time ≤10ms, ensuring uninterrupted data transmission when communication is interrupted.​

It supports interconnection between controllers and remote I/O modules 12 kilometers away, and a single module can manage 16 channels of mixed signals (digital/analog), adapting to distributed equipment layout scenarios. The online diagnostic module can monitor power abnormalities, link interruptions, module faults and other states, with a diagnostic coverage of ≥99%, and fault information is uploaded to the Triconex system monitoring platform in real time via the communication interface.​

The hot-swappable design allows live module replacement without affecting system operation; the industrial-grade wide-temperature and anti-EMC performance ensure stable operation in high-temperature and strong electromagnetic environments, with a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) ≥1,000,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F, 25℃ environment).​
