Eaton MTL831C Simulated multiplex transmitter

Eaton MTL831C is an intrinsically safe analog multiplexer transmitter under the MTL830 series of Eaton, as the upgraded version of MTL831B. It is designed specifically for collecting and transmitting multi-channel temperature, millivolt and RTD signals in hazardous areas. Its core function is to summarize and convert multiple sensor signals in hazardous areas, realize integrated signal transmission and power supply via a single-pair data highway without independent on-site power supply, and support dual-channel redundant link configuration. Suitable for Zone 0 hazardous areas, it can be directly integrated into industrial automation systems. Compatible with ENC8/ENC83 dedicated enclosures, the product supports signal type and access scale expansion, providing a more stable solution for safe long-distance and multi-channel signal transmission in high-risk scenarios such as petrochemical and oil & gas extraction.

Product Performance

Intrinsically safe design covers Zone 0/1 hazardous areas without additional explosion-proof measures. Combined with wide voltage adaptation capability, it can operate stably in high-risk scenarios and voltage fluctuation environments, ensuring personnel and equipment safety.

Supports mixed access of thermocouple, millivolt source and RTD signals, newly compatible with PT1000 RTD. A single device can be expanded to 32-channel input (two units sharing a link), adapting to signal collection needs in complex scenarios.

Integrated design of signal transmission and power supply simplifies on-site wiring. The transmission distance of 2km in hazardous areas and 3km in safe areas, combined with low ripple coefficient, improves signal transmission accuracy by 15% compared with the previous generation.

Dual redundant link configuration automatically switches to the standby link when a single link fails. Combined with earth fault linkage protection, the fault response time is ≤10ms, ensuring uninterrupted signal transmission.

Compatible with ENC8/ENC83 series enclosures with IP67 protection level, supporting multi-unit stack installation, occupying small space and adapting to different scale control cabinet layouts.

Integrated 63mA fuse and overload protection circuit can resist on-site circuit short circuit and overload risks, extend equipment service life and reduce operation and maintenance costs.

Compatible with Eaton MTL series receivers and isolators, seamlessly connecting to existing MTL systems, and can directly replace MTL831B without system reconstruction, facilitating the upgrade of old projects.
