ABB REX521GHHPSH51G is an industrial-grade medium-voltage microprocessor-based protection relay developed on the RED500 platform, designed for feeders, motors and distribution transformers in medium-voltage (6-35kV) power systems, providing an integrated "protection-control-measurement-communication" solution. Its core functions include selective overcurrent protection, earth fault isolation, equipment overheating monitoring and automatic reclosing, integrating 1-13th harmonic analysis and circuit breaker condition diagnosis. It supports LON/IEC/SPA industrial communication protocols and can be seamlessly integrated into Substation Automation Systems (SAS) and SCADA platforms. Product Performance

The module’s logic processing cycle is ≤10ms, and the protection action response time is ≤50ms (when overcurrent fault current ≥2×set value), which can quickly isolate fault areas and prevent fault expansion. The analog measurement accuracy reaches ±0.5% full scale, the frequency measurement range is 45-65Hz, and the accuracy is ±0.01Hz, meeting the high-precision requirements of power systems for measurement data.

It supports “select-before-operate” safety control logic. During reclosing, it automatically detects fault nature (permanent/transient), with transient fault reclosing success rate ≥95%; built-in Lockout self-holding function, which locks reclosing after permanent fault tripping to prevent secondary damage to equipment.

The event recording resolution is 1ms, capable of storing 1000 sequence of events records (SER) and 50 disturbance recording data (maximum recording duration 3.4s). Fault information is uploaded to the background system in real time via fiber optic communication, supporting remote fault tracing and analysis. The built-in comprehensive self-diagnosis module can diagnose 18 types of abnormalities such as power supply abnormality, communication interruption and I/O channel fault, with diagnostic coverage ≥99%. When a fault occurs, it triggers local alarm and remote signal upload.

The device’s Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is ≥1,000,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F, 25℃ environment), supporting online parameter setting and configuration modification. Parameters are stored in non-volatile EEPROM, and data is retained for ≥10 years after power failure, no backup battery required.
