ABB REL561 1MRK002496-AC Microcomputer longitudinal differential protection terminal

ABB REL561 1MRK002496-AC is a microprocessor-based longitudinal differential protection terminal dedicated to high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) transmission lines. Its core functions include phase-segregated current differential protection and multi-stage distance protection, integrating measurement, control, disturbance recording and communication functions. The device adopts a dual-main protection configuration, realizing data synchronization between two terminals via 56/64kbit/s digital communication channel. It supports CT saturation detection and automatic communication delay compensation, adaptable to series-compensated systems and harmonic environments of HVDC converter stations. Equipped with a built-in Man-Machine Interface (MMI) for local parameter configuration and fault data tracing, it complies with IEC 61850 communication standard and can be seamlessly integrated into smart substation automation systems, serving as a core protection device for ensuring safe operation of HV transmission lines.

Product Performance

The device has a logic processing cycle of 5ms, transmitting three-phase current phasor data to the opposite terminal every 5ms, including CT saturation detection and clock synchronization information. The phase-segregated differential protection operation time is ≤28ms (when differential current ≥2×set value), and the distance protection Zone Ⅰ operation time is ≤40ms, enabling rapid isolation of internal faults.

Current measurement accuracy is ≤±2.5% rated current (IN), voltage measurement accuracy ≤±2.0% rated voltage, frequency measurement range 45-65Hz with accuracy ±0.01Hz. It supports 1-13th harmonic analysis with total harmonic distortion (THD) measurement accuracy ±0.5%.

Event recording resolution is 1ms, capable of storing 500 sequence of events records (SER) and 50 disturbance recording data with maximum duration of 3.4s. Fault information is bidirectionally synchronized via fiber optic channel. Built-in intelligent diagnosis module can detect 15 types of faults including communication interruption, CT disconnection and power abnormality, with diagnostic coverage ≥99%. Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is ≥1,000,000 hours (25℃ environment).
